Manage Workflow and Timelines: Oversee the entire process from manuscript to publication, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and publication schedules.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with authors, editors, typesetters, and cover designers, providing clear guidelines and instructions on client workflows, content processing, typesetting specifications, illustrations, proofreading, and technical standards (e.g., file formats).
Coordinate Outsourced Work: Manage and monitor tasks assigned to freelancers or external service providers to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Liaise with Internal Teams and Clients: Communicate effectively with colleagues from the Production, Platforms, and Logistics teams responsible for publication release, as well as client contacts for addressing queries and managing processes.
Maintain Project Schedules and Quality: Ensure that assigned projects stay on schedule, meet quality standards, and that there is timely communication with the Desk Editing Team Leader and client representatives.
Administer Project Systems: Handle the administration of assigned projects within the client’s central product information system and manage workflows in both the client’s CMS and internal systems (Asana & PTS).
Job Requirements:
BA degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred
Good working knowledge of MS Office Applications, including file management through Windows Explorer
Two years of experience proofreading or editing text; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
Working knowledge of XML publishing production workflow / systems an advantage
