Qualifications

• At least 3 years experience and/or training in a production environment doing any of the following duties: artwork/book composition, template development, project analysis, data capturing, XML structuring and tagging, or quality control.
• Extensive knowledge and experience and/or training in actual production in the print/prepress/publishing industry.
• Knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, & Acrobat; Microsoft Word & Excel
• Good analytical and design skills at different stages of production
• Good understanding of prepress production process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance
• Good communication skills to interface with project teams
• Able to work independently and as a team member
• Initiative in communicating and resolving quality issues in  production processes
• Able to comprehend and follow complex instructions and effectively relay instructions step by step
• With a capacity to work from home AND work office-based

Responsibilities

• DATA ANALYSIS: Extract, organize, and provide a quantitative analysis of statistical data from production performance records (monthly delivery performance, production error analysis, quarterly management review for clients, etc.).
• DOCUMENTATION: Revise or update documentation (production processes/workflows/checklists, standard operation procedures, and policies)

• TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Provide technical assistance on the following:
  • Software operation (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, & Acrobat; Microsoft Word & Excel)
  • Standard production processes
  • Time recording and project/team management system

• PROJECT ASSESSMENT: Provide in-depth analysis and a cost-effective streamlined solution in any of the following:
  • New and specialized projects in book production, graphic/artwork creation, data capture/conversion (workflow, estimates, template, sample, guidelines)
  • New tools/software and process (test run, feasibility studies, training)

• AUTOMATION: Identify opportunities for automation in image processing, book production, data capture, and other prepress processes.
• ERROR INVESTIGATION: Investigate & troubleshoot problems in production tools, processes, files, and people capabilities. Develop preventive measures.
