Ensures that the text matches the original; spelling and style are correct and consistent; page numbers, headings and captions are correct; photos and illustrations are correctly captioned
Corrects spelling and stylization of documents using client’s typesetting requirements, and punctuation conventions; ensuring accuracy and consistency
Ensures implementation of client updates
Reports quality findings
Job Requirements:
BA degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred
Good working knowledge of MS Office Applications and acrobat reader, including file management through Windows Explorer
Two years of experience proofreading or editing text; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
Working knowledge of XML publishing production workflow / systems an advantage
